Delta Air Lines to Cut Routes from New York’s LaGuardia Airport

What's Going On?
Delta Air Lines is making changes to its route network, and it's bad news for travelers flying out of New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The airline has announced that it will stop flying to Los Angeles and Phoenix from LGA starting on Jan. 8, 2024.
Perimeter Rule Impact
While Delta's statement did not provide a reason for the cuts, industry insiders speculate that the airline's decision is due to LaGuardia's "perimeter rule." This rule limits flights from LGA to airports within 1,500 miles, with the exception of routes to Denver and Saturday flights.
What's Left?
Despite the cuts, Delta will still offer once-weekly Saturday-only service to Salt Lake City and Las Vegas from LGA. So if you're planning a weekend getaway to these destinations, you're in luck!
More Flights to Seoul
On a positive note, Delta will be increasing its service from Atlanta to Seoul, South Korea. Starting in April 2024, there will be a second daily flight operated by the Airbus A350-900. This means more options for customers looking to travel to South Korea and beyond.
Delta President Hints at More Capacity Increases
