Popular Apps Petey and macGPT Updated with OpenAI’s Latest Features

This week, popular apps Petey and macGPT have received updates with OpenAI's latest features. Petey, developed by Hidde van der Ploeg, and macGPT, developed by Jordi Bruin, have both brought exciting improvements to their users. Here's what you need to know about the latest updates.
Petey: Your GPT App for Apple Watch and iPhone
In version 2.5 of Petey, users can expect numerous improvements and new features thanks to OpenAI's updates. One of the notable changes is that Petey Basic now defaults to using the 16K context. Additionally, the app introduces two new mascots and allows users to set their favorite font style.
For Premium users, there's even more to enjoy. The latest update grants access to the new GPT-4 Turbo, a faster and more knowledgeable version that can provide information up to April 2023 (previously limited to September 2021). Premium users also benefit from a significantly improved voice, thanks to OpenAI's new Text-to-Speech API.
Apple Watch users will be delighted to find a completely redesigned app for watchOS 10. The update also includes a conversation history feature, making it easier to keep track of previous interactions.
Hidde van der Ploeg, the developer behind Petey, revealed that a future version will include an image/camera input feature, and a macOS app is currently in the works. Petey can be downloaded for free, but an in-app subscription is required based on your GPT needs.
macGPT: Turbocharged with GPT-4
macGPT, created by Jordi Bruin, has also been updated to incorporate the power of GPT-4 Turbo. This upgrade allows the app to support up to 128,000 tokens, providing users with an even more comprehensive experience.
Bruin promises that more exciting features are on the horizon for macGPT. In the meantime, he has released a new Mac app called Voices. Utilizing OpenAI's Text-To-Speech models, Voices enables users to generate human-like audio files from text. To make this feature as affordable as possible, Bruin allows users to utilize their own API key.

Both macGPT and Voices can be downloaded for free on Mac. However, it is recommended to leave a tip for Bruin as a way to show appreciation for his hard work.
